FATHERS – BE COURAGEOUS

God’s design for fathers is to be teachers, providers and protectors.

The society is decaying because of the ill of fatherless ness. Fatherless ness brings destruction and devastation to children lives and homes. The prisons are full of men and women who live recklessly after been abandoned by their fathers or hurt by the very fathers that should have loved and cared for them the most. Many of these children have followed in their father’s irresponsible footsteps.

So many mothers are left to carry the burden of raising these children alone and to such mothers, we salute and thank you.

Research has proved that children desperately need their daddies – there is no way around this part! For those fathers at home, please value and appreciate the time you have with your children. (You can ask those who have unfortunately lost their little children.) The way forward is to ask God to show us the type of fathers we need to be through His words.

God’s desire for every father is to courageously step up and do whatever it takes to be involved in the lives of our children. More than be there to provide for them, we must walk with them through their growing lives and be a visual representation of the figure of God.

A father should love his children; seek to win their hearts. He should protect them, discipline them and teach them about God. He should model how to walk in integrity and teach others with respect. He should call out his children to be responsible men and women.

Some men will hear this and mock it or ignore it. But I tell you as a father, you are accountable to God for the position of influence He has given to you. You cannot fall asleep at the wheels only to wake up one day and realize that your job or hobby has no eternal value but the souls of your children do.

Some men will read this and agree with it but have no resolve to live it out, instead they will live with themselves and waste the opportunity to leave a legacy for the next generation.

But there are some men who regardless of their past mistakes, regardless of what their fathers did not do for them will give the best of their arms and the rest of their days and all that they have to teach their children to love God and whenever possible to love and mentor others who have no father in their lives and are desperate for direction.

I am inviting any man whose heart is willing and courageous to join in this resolution.

In my home, the decision has already been made;

You don’t have to ask;

* Who will guide my family – because by God’s grace, I WILL!

* Who will teach my children to follow Christ – I WILL!

* Who will accept the responsibility to provide & protect my family – I WILL

* Who will ask God to break the pattern of destruction in my lineage – I WILL!

* Who will bless and pray for my children to boldly pursue whatever God has asked them to do – I am their father, so I WILL!

I accept these responsibilities and it is my privilege to embrace it. I want the favour of God and His blessing on my home, every good man does!

So, where are you Men of Courage? Where are you fathers who fear the Lord?

It is time to rise up and answer the call that God has given you and to say

I WILL!

I WILL!!

I WILL!!!
